Billie Jean Haney

On August 15, 1932 a candle was lit from the union of Robert and Pearl Walker; Billie Jean Walker was born. 

Jean was one of four children.  She received her education in Hominy, OK.  She moved to Tulsa and met Ernest “Buster” Johnson. To that union one child was born.  She later married John Paul Haney, Sr.  To that union were seven children.  Her parents; two brothers and two sons preceded her in death. 

She leaves to cherish her memory four daughters: Earnestine Townsend, Beverly Jackson, Karen Hall and Sandra Haney; three sons: John Paul Haney, Jr., Ronnell Haney and Terrance Haney; sister Roberta Verner, all of Tulsa; 26 grandchildren; 40 great-grandchildren; and a host of nieces, nephews and friends.

Service: 11AM Thursday, February 19 at New Jerusalem Baptist Church, 3427 N. Birmingham Ave., Tulsa, OK 74110; interment: Green Acres Cemetery, Skiatook, OK.
