Eldie Clifton Abel

Eldie Clifton Abel of Porter, 72, entered eternal life January 5, 2010 in Tulsa.  He was born August 28, 1937 in Coweta to Thomas Richard and Alma Meada (Cherry) Abel.  A longtime Broken Arrow resident, Eldie married Margaret Alice (Harrell) September 24, 1955 in Coweta and together they created a wonderful family. 

A retired machinist, Eldie was an active minister who enjoyed mowing, painting cement figurines, horses, reading Westerns and especially his grandchildren. 

He was preceded in death by his grandson Brandon Ray Abel and brother Elmo Abel.  In addition to his loving wife Margaret of the home, he is survived by his sons: Eldie Ray Abel and his wife Donna of Porter, Audie Abel and his wife Charlene of Broken Arrow, Tom Abel and his wife Rena of Haskell; daughter Annetta Self and her husband Jim of Broken Arrow; grandchildren: Brandi Yocham and her husband Johnny Ray of Porter, Audie Chris Abel of Broken Arrow, Athena Rainbolt and her husband Brandon of Coweta, Adam Abel and his wife Crystal of Oil Trough, AR, Tommy D. Abel and his wife Autumn of Haskell, Dustin Lloyd Abel and his wife Mandy of Midland, TX, Alesia Posey and her husband Jeremy of Coweta, Jerod Self and Jake Self of Broken Arrow; and 9 great-grandchildren plus one more expected soon. 

Service: 2PM Friday, January 8 at New Home Freewill Baptist Church, 10442 S. 257th E. Ave. in Coweta; private interment: Vernon Cemetery in Coweta.  Kennedy-Amis-Kennard Funeral Service, 251.5331.
